"THUNDEROUS RISING"

The NBA may have taken a backseat to the NCAA Basketball Tourney for the past few weeks, but it hasn’t failed in its quality of match-ups. There has yet to be a week where I can be lazy, and not have to rearrange my Top 10 Rankings. My Top 14 (Top 10, plus first 4 out) have remained consistent, but their individual ranks have been like a game of checkers. And,once again, for the 4th consecutive week, there is a new face to the Top 10.

Here are my COUCH SPORTS EXPERT TOP 10 RANKINGS: Week 3/25/12:

2012 NBA Power Rankings

RANK / TRENDING

TEAM / RECORD LAST WEEK’S RECORD COMMENTS
1(–) Last Week: 1

BULLS

37-10

4-0

Wins: Magic, Raptors, Raptors Losses: N/A

The top 3 teams have inter-changed several times since I started these rankings. Chicago was the only one to go undefeated last week. They are playing good ball…with or without D-Rose
2(+1) Last Week: 3   THUNDER37-12 3-1

Wins: Clippers, T’Wolves, Heat Losses: Jazz

OKC suffered a lose to the Jazz this week, a team that they are clearly better than. But a statement win against the Heat Sunday night healed all wounds
3(-1) Last Week: 2

HEAT

35-12

2-1

Wins: Suns, Pistons Losses: Thunder

And a convincing loss to the Thunder it was!
4(–) Last Week: 4

SPURS

33-14

4-0

Wins: T’Wolves, Mavericks, Hornets, 76ers Losses: N/A

If they continue to play like this, I will have no choice but put them in the Top 3 next week
5(+1) Last Week: 6

MAGIC

31-18

2-1

Wins: Suns, Cavaliers Losses: Bulls

I wonder what this team’s record would be if D-12 (Howard) would’ve ended the trade drama months ago?
6(-1) Last Week: 5

LAKERS

30-19

2-2

Wins: Mavericks, Blazers Losses: Rockets, Grizzlies

Sessions is definitely a better point than Fisher. But L.A. still dropped 2 this week. And who benches Kobe Bryant?
7(+1) Last Week: 8

PACERS

28-19

3-1

Wins: Clippers, Wizards, Bucks Losses: Suns

I can’t continue to place this team in the bottom spots when there are teams clearly playing worse than them from week to week
8(++) Last Week: NR

HAWKS

30-20

4-1

Wins: Cavaliers, Nets, Wizards, Jazz Losses: Celtics

The Hawks played a lot last week…and they won a lot last week.
9(-2) Last Week: 7

CLIPPERS

27-21

1-3

Wins: Grizzlies Losses: Pacers, Thunder, Hornets

After starting hot, and pulling off wins without CP3, the Clips are a sinking ship. It may be time to change the captain. (Del Negro)
10(-1) Last Week: 9   GRIZZLIES

26-21

1-3

Wins: Lakers Losses: Kings, Blazers, Clippers

A big win over the Lakers, in L.A., saved their week, and Top 10 Rank status

LAST 4 OUT: PHILADELPHIA 76ERS, BOSTON CELTICS, DALLAS MAVERICKS, DENVER NUGGETS (In no particular order)
