2012 POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 7
RANK TEAM / RECORD TRENDING COMMENTS
1
Falcons
6-0
 Last Week: 2
Change: +1
Every other top team has had a slip-up, or 2, so we can’t criticize them for pulling out tough victories.
2
Texans
5-1
Last Week: 1
Change: -1
The way they lost was an eye opener. But when multiple teams ranked just below you lose, you can only fall so far!
3

Ravens
5-1
Last Week: 4
Change: +1
They haven’t been blowing out teams, and their defense just took a massive hit.
4
Giants
4-2
Last Week: 7
Change: +3
If the stakes are HIGH, they show out.
5
Bears
4-1
Last Week: 5

This was a good week for them to sit back, relax, and watch the craziness at the top.
6
49ers
4-2
Last Week: 3
Change: -3
They didn’t just lose, they were dismantled in every aspect of the game.
7
Packers
3-3
Last Week: 12
Change: +5
Green Bay showed us just how dynamic their offense can be, and just how stout their defense still is.
8
Patriots
3-3
Last Week: 6
Change: -2
If you have the “best offense in the league”, act like it.
9
Vikings
4-2
Last Week: 8

The team that has shown a strong ability to RUN and STOP THE RUN…did neither on Sunday.
10
Seahawks
4-2
Last Week: 15
Change: +5
This team isn’t supposed to have that kind of FIGHT in them.
11
Cardinals
4-2
Last Week: 9
Change: -2
2 weeks removed from starting undefeated. 2 consecutive weeks of losing to teams who aren’t the “best” the league has to offer.
12
Broncos
3-3
Last Week: 16
Change: +8
MNF was Manning at his finest. Cheer up, Chargers fans, I once had to sit through him erasing a 28-pt lead on my Buccs. Still hurts!
13
Steelers
2-3
 Last Week: 10
Change: -3
One week, the “D” looks like it dipped into the Fountain of Youth. The next, it looks like it was drafted out of an old folks’ home.
14
Eagles
3-3
Last Week: 11
Change: -3
I understand firing the D-Coordinator, because the defense has been horrible, but how does that fix the TO’s?
15
Redskins
3-3
Last Week: 18
Change: +3
I continue to say that Washington has to get RGIII some help. Maybe not. He showed Sunday that he can do it all on his own.
16
Chargers
3-3
 Last Week: 13
Change: -3
They have the talent and ability. They just can’t sustain it for 60 minutes.
17
Dolphins
3-3
Last Week: 19
Change: +2
Wow, a team that goes out and beats the teams it’s supposed to beat. What a concept.
18
Cowboys
2-3
Last Week: 17
Change: -1
I respect the closeness of their losses….BUT they are still losses.
19
Rams
3-3
 Last Week: 18
Change: -1
They still have some work to do, but they are definitely growing in the right direction.
20
Bengals
3-3
Last Week: 14
Change: -6
With the way they have played lately, you just knew they would be Cleveland’s first victim.
21
Lions
2-3
Last Week: 22
Change: +1
Great comeback win, but the Eagles are a team in turmoil that finds a way to win. Let’s see what Detroit does next week.
22
Jets
3-3
Last Week: 24
Change: +2
The Jets are getting the reputation that they need doubters and criticism in order for them to play well.
23
Bills
3-3
Last Week: 25
Change: +2
Injuries or not, you know they are going to put their heart into every game.
24
Buccaneers
2-3
Last Week: 26
Change: +2
Wish Tampa looked at least half this impressive every week.
25
Saints
1-4
Last Week: 23
Change: -2
They didn’t (couldn’t) do anything wrong on their bye, but some teams under them looked impressive.
26
Titans
2-4
Last Week: 28
Change: +2
They finally remembered that Chris Johnson is a valuable asset to the team. .
27
Colts
2-3
Last Week: 21
Change: -6
How do you beat Green Bay one week, and look like a Division 2 team against the Jets?
28
Panthers
1-4
Last week: 27
Change: -1
Idle week, Tennessee just happened to win a big game.
29
Raiders
1-4
Last Week: 29
Change: –
You could say they fought hard against a good team. You could say they found a way to lose.
30
Chiefs
1-5
Last week: 30
Change: –
This team isn’t even competing. I’m putting them on notice. Cleveland is at least competing.
31
Browns
1-5
Last week: 32
Change: +1
I said last week that a close loss by the Browns would move them up. Well, they won.
32
Jaguars
1-4
Last Week: 31

Change: -1

(Read above)

STUDS OF THE WEEK: SEVERAL. GREEN BAY PACKERS, DENVER BRONCOS, NEW YORK GIANTS, and WASHINGTON REDSKINS. They all found a way to make some very good teams look very bad.

DUDS OF THE WEEK: SEVERAL. HOUSTON TEXANS, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS, MINNESOTA VIKINGS, and SAN DIEGO CHARGERS. They all lost to good teams, but looked like Junior High football teams in the process.
