2012 POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 11
RANK TEAM / RECORD TRENDING COMMENTS
1
Texans
8-1
Last Week: 2
Change: +1
I already have full faith in their offense. There “D” showed me a few things this week.
2

Falcons
8-1
Last Week: 1
Change: -1
I always think it’s good for a team to taste defeat early, and assess where they need to go from here. We’ll see what they come up with.
3

Bears
7-2
Last Week: 3
Change: –
Wet, nasty game. Most teams would’ve fared much worse with the loss of their QB.
4
Ravens
7-2
Last Week: 6
Change: +2
This is the sharpest their offense has looked all season. But they did play the Raiders.
5
49ers
6-2-1
Last Week: 4
Change: -1
I can’t punish them too bad for a TIE. But a tie against the Rams is almost a mental loss for San Fran.
6

Patriots
6-3
Last Week: 7
Change: +1
They were inches away from losing. They play no defense at all. But the arrival of Aqib Talib should help that.
7

Packers
6-3
Last Week: 8
Change: +1
Always good when every ahead of you has a tough week, on your bye week.
8
Steelers
6-3
Last Week: 9
Change: +1
Beat the Giants one week, struggle against the Chiefs the next. Hopefully Big Ben won’t miss significant time, or…
9
Broncos
6-3
Last Week: 10
Change: +1
After playing a tough schedule early, the Broncos load has gotten lighter, and their future much brighter.
10
Giants
6-4
Last Week: 5
Change: -5
There is definitely something wrong with this team. And, even worse, they won’t have that late season match-up against an undefeated team to get them motivated.
11

Seahawks
6-4
Last Week: 11
Change: –
What’s the sign of a good team? Beat the teams that you should beat.
12

Colts
6-3
Last Week: 12
Change: –
They have reached a difficult point now. Now, we expect them to win. Can they play within the level of expectation. Some teams can’t.
13

Vikings
6-4
Last Week: 13
Change: –
They are doing some important things to stay alive in their division.
14
Cowboys
4-5
Last Week: 16
Change: +2
Through all of their “ups”, “downs”, and craziness….they are only 1 game out of their division lead.
15

Buccaneers
5-4
Last Week: 20
Change: +5
They own their own fate. Keep winning and a Playoff birth is in their grasp.
16

Saints
4-5
Last Week: 21
Change: +5
Who would’ve imagined this team would still be in the Playoff hunt? This is a different team than they were in the beginning of the season.
17
Lions
4-5
Last Week: 14
Change: -3
All is still not lost, but they have to pull off some big wins. 6 out of 7 of their final opponents have winning records.
18

Cardinals
4-5
Last Week: 17
Change: -1
They needed this bye more than any other team. Hopefully they got their groove back this week.
19
Bengals
4-5
Last Week: 23
Change: +4
Big win against New York last week. Part of being a good team is taking care of the teams that you are supposed to beat. KC is next.
20
Dolphins
4-5
Last Week: 15
Change: -5
I thought they were on the right track a few weeks ago. Two in a row in the “L” column has me losing all faith in them.
21

Rams
3-5-1
Last Week: 22
Change: +1
They didn’t lose last week. But a tie against San Francisco is a “win” for them in my book.
22

Chargers
4-5
Last Week: 19
Change: -3
Early losses will hurt them. Imagine if they were as efficient on offense all season as they have been the last 2 weeks.
23
Titans
4-6
Last Week: 26
Change: +3
Chris Johnson made this team relevant. I’m glad they remember that now.
24
Eagles
3-6
Last Week: 18
Change: -6
Nothing is working. They’ve had team meetings, ball control tactics, Coordinators replaced. Nothing is working.
25
Redskins
3-6
Last Week: 25
Change: –
I believed in this team, before their flop against Carolina. Coming off their bye week, this week is huge. A match-up against Philly is basically a fight to stay off the bottom.
26
Jets
3-6
Last Week: 24
Change: -2
This team has to always be surrounded by drama. But there’s nothing dramatic about the way they are playing football. It’s just sad.
27
Bills
3-6
Last Week: 27
Change: –
They prove to be a tough opponent in big games, but that’s not enough to be a good team.
28

Raiders
3-6
Last week: 28
Change: –
Black and grey is so fitting for them. If you’re a fan, that’s how you have to feel while you watch them.
29

Panthers
2-7
Last Week: 29
Change: –
I knew they would get brought back down to earth very quickly after last week’s win over Washington.
30

Browns
2-7
Last week: 30
Change: –
I can’t punish them for being on a bye. But I also can’t see any changes they could’ve made for the better either.
31
Jaguars
1-8
Last week: 31
Change: –
Their defense is so bad, Andrew Luck became the Colts #1 RUSHING option against them.
32
Chiefs
1-8
Last Week: 32Change: – They still show heart. It doesn’t always translate into victories, but it’s still huge for an organization.

STUDS OF THE WEEK: (2) NEW ORLEANS SAINTS. They faced the best team in the league, from the records, and stopped them. Even with a faulty defense. CINCINNATI BENGALS. The Giants were still the Super Bowl favorite in some circles, and Cincy embarrassed them on every side of the ball.

DUDS OF THE WEEK: NEW YORK GIANTS. Cincinnati hasn’t been clicking against any team lately. Yet, they go in and punish New York for 4 quarters. Constantly bitten by the injury bug, unable to gel on offense lately, a “soft” defense (according to the Coach), where do they go from here?
