2012 POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 13
RANK TEAM / RECORD TRENDING COMMENTS
1
Texans
10-1
Last Week: 1
Change: –
Survived another strong passing attack. Many have folded under such pressure.
2
Falcons
10-1
Last Week: 2
Change: –
Everyone keeps waiting for Atlanta to fall apart, but this offense is very good. Give them credit.
3
49ers
8-2-1
Last Week: 4
Change: +1
How many teams can throw in their back-up, and still look this good?
4
Ravens
9-2
Last Week: 3
Change: -1
They won their game. Bravo! But they are also squeaking out games, while the other top teams are looking very impressive.
5
Patriots
8-3
Last Week: 5
Change: –
As long as they keep playing teams who can’t score on offense, or stop anyone on defense….
6
Bears
8-3
Last Week: 7
Change: +1
This team is dangerous as long as everyone on the roll remains healthy.
7
Broncos
8-3
Last Week: 9
Change: +2
I keep going back to the process this team has gone through this season. Early growing pains, and now they are flexing their muscle.
8
Giants
7-4
Last Week: 10
Change: +2
Have we reached that point in the season when the G-Men turn on that “switch”, and hoist the Super Bowl trophy in the end?
9
Packers
7-4
Last Week: 6
Change: -3
They took a brutal beating last week. If they can’t protect Rodgers, they can cancel this season.
10
Colts
7-4
Last Week: 13
Change: +3
They continue to inspire. Coach Pagano and Andrew Luck have inspired an entire organization.
11
Bengals
6-5
Last Week: 17
Change: +6
Guess who is quietly keeping themselves in the playoff hunt.
12
Steelers
6-5
Last Week: 8
Change: -4
They have the potential to do irreparable damage to their playoff hopes while Big Ben is out.
13
Vikings
6-5
Last Week: 12
Change: -1
They need to fix their defense quick. Unless they can get Adrian Peterson on defense too.
14
Buccaneers
6-5
Last Week: 14
Change: –
They are young, but they are good. If they can clean up the small mistakes, the playoffs could be in their future.
15
Seahawks
6-5
Last Week: 11
Change: -4
Last week was a bigger loss than it seems. They could’ve solidified themselves as a “contender”.
16
Saints
5-6
Last Week: 15
Change: -1
After flying high for the last month, the Saints were brought back down to earth last week. Their defense needs help.
17
Redskins
5-6
Last Week: 21
Change: +4
Impressive win, on a huge stage Thanksgiving day. RGIII wins over more fans every time he steps on the field.
18
Dolphins
5-6
Last Week: 20
Change: +2
Finally, this team shows a sign of life.
19
Cowboys
5-6
Last Week: 16
Change: -3
As an ignorant YouTube video once said, “IT’S SO COOOOLD IN THE ‘D’!”
20
Lions
4-7
Last Week: 18
Change: -2
They are playing one of toughest schedules I’ve seen in a long time, and they aren’t breaking any ground.
21
Rams
4-6-1
Last Week: 26
Change: +5
In today’s league, their gameplay actually looks impressive. They still have work to do, but they’ve shown the ability to hang with the top dogs.
22
Cardinals
4-7
Last Week: 19
Change: -3
We all keep waiting for the bleeding to stop. And there is no open wound to point out as the primary issue.
23
Jets
4-7
Last Week: 22
Change: -1
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse….
24
Chargers
4-7
Last Week: 24
Change: –
Philip Rivers is seasons apart from the QB he used to be. And they lose talent every year. What’s the fix?
25
Titans
4-7
Last Week: 23
Change: -2
I kept saying they have to rely heavily on Chris Johnson. The problem is that NO ONE else is anywhere near reliable.
26
Bills
4-7
Last Week: 25
Change: -1
Now that they aren’t dealing with injuries, but still losing, we can admit that they are a train wreck.
27
Browns
3-8
Last Week: 30
Change: +3
They always prove to b a tough out, and they capitalized against a weakened division rival.
28
Panthers
3-8
Last week: 29
Change: +1
They can finally celebrate again. How long will the party last this time?
29
Eagles
3-8
Last Week: 27
Change: -2
Their backs have finally been broken. We are now witnessing the last days of Vick and Reed in Philadelphia.
30
Raiders
3-8
Last week: 28
Change: -2
I want to see them play without the “injury bug”, and with a QB who can lead their team.
31
Jaguars
2-9
Last week: 31
Change: –
“The Jacksonville team we witnessed Sunday has no business being 1-9.” – That is what I said last week.
32
Chiefs
1-10
Last Week: 32Change: – I just want to see any resemblance of a football team.

STUDS OF THE WEEK: NEW YORK GIANTS. I’ve said it constantly about this team; they get to a point in the season when they turn “on” a switch, and go from “GOOD” to “GREAT”. It was turned on last week against Green Bay.

DUDS OF THE WEEK: DALLAS COWBOYS, GREEN BAY PACKERS, and NEW ORLEANS SAINTS. Neither team faced a “push-ver” opponent. But to go out and not really show any resemblance of a fight was depressing.
